November 6th, 2007

Filming has begun on Media Headquarters’ THE SUMMIT, a four-hour, two-part miniseries for CBC and Global Television. THE SUMMIT is about a military-engineered smallpox virus smuggled into Canada as leaders of the world gather for a G8 Summit. Directed by Nick Copus (The 4400) the miniseries features an all-star cast, including: Bruce Greenwood, Christopher Plummer, James Purefoy, Wendy Crewson. Rachelle Lefevre, Mia Maestro, Stephen McHattie, and Lisa Ray.

The partnership between CBC and Global Television has provided a unique opportunity to support a production of this magnitude. Filming continues on the eight-week shoot until November 21, 2007 in and around Ontario, England and Ecuador.

THE SUMMIT is co-produced with Shaftesbury Films in association with the CBC, Canwest Global and Power Corporation.
