Last night in Toronto Media Headquarters’ mini-series THE SUMMIT was honoured with the award for best Team Television Movie/Mini-Series.
Every year, the DGC recognizes the best work created by DGC members.
THE SUMMIT is a Media Headquarters and Shaftesbury Production produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canwest Global and Power Corporation with the participation of The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, the COGECO Program Development Fund and the Nickel Basin Federal Development Corporation, and with the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Credit and the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit.
Following its success in Canada and the United States, Media Headquarters’ award winning film THE GREAT POLAR BEAR ADVENTURE has sold distribution rights to Eurovideo in Germany.
Euro video, established in 1979, acquires national and international films, TV-productions and documentations and distributes their programs to commercial buyers in the German-language area.
THE GREAT POLAR BEAR ADVENTURE is a groundbreaking family movie special that takes audiences inside the secret lives of polar bears. By cleverly combining wildlife footage with cutting edge CGI animation, polar bears are given voice, and tell their own story about life in the Arctic. Featuring the voice performances of Howie Mandel and Megan Follows.
Media Headquarters executive Robert Cohen is headed to Cannes next month to attend the MipJr and MipCom conferences. As massive preparations for the G8 Summit are underway, Canadian Prime Minister and Summit host Adderly (Bruce Greenwood) and U.S. President Aimes (Christopher Plummer) must race against time to prevent an outbreak that will threaten the future of the western world. Later this month Media Headquarters Executive Robert Cohen will travel to Banff to meet with broadcast and distribution partners from around the globe. Cohen will use the opportunity to introduce a number of new projects on Media Headquarters’ growing development slate to Commissioning Editors and continue to develop partnerships with national and international producers, broadcasters and distributors.

Media Headquarters is please to announce OUTLAW IN-LAWS is coming to American broadcaster Style Network. The cable net has licensed 39 episodes of the program, which helps solve conflicts between spouses and their in-laws. Produced by Media Headquarters in Toronto, Canada, the series was originally commissioned by Slice Network in Canada.
“Outlaw In-Laws, with its drama-filled ‘before’ and transformed ‘after’ is a perfect fit for our current programming lineup,” said Katie Buchanan, VP of programming and acquisitions for The Style Network in a statement.
The series follows internationally renowned advice expert Ellie Tesher as she visits homes suffering from family feuds and gets them back on track. Distributor Picture Box also recently sold the series to MTV Finland, and anticipates additional sales on the series in the next few months.
