TESSA & SCOTT to air in over 11 countries including France and Italy

Toronto, Canada (September 11, 2014) – Distribution360, a marblemedia company with a focus on international sales to both traditional and emerging platforms, has announced that the series Tessa & Scott (7×30’), produced by Media Headquarters, has been sold to 11 European countries through a deal with Nat Geo People. The series, which provides a personal look into the lives of Canada’s ice-dancing sweethearts, is set to air in France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland.

Corus Entertainment’s W Network announced today that it is commissioning a new  six-part series following Olympic Gold medal winners and Canadian sweethearts Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir. To be produced by Media Headquarters in association with W Network with the participation of the Canada Media Fund, Tessa & Scott will go into production this summer and is scheduled to launch on January 2, 2014, leading up to the Sochi Olympic games.

CBC’S CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON ENGAGES CANADIANS WITH CUTTING EDGE SOCIAL TELEVISION EXPERIENCE

Broadcast attracted thousands of viewers to play along in real time

With more than a million online page views, audiences from across the country took the challenge and went head-to-head with some of Canada’s top minds during last night’s broadcast of CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON.  Nearly 10% of television viewers played along in real time at CBC.ca/smartestperson and by using the free CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON App on their iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON was a trending topic on Twitter nearly 1 million impressions**, and 3.7 million impressions on Facebook.

The show drew an average of 701,000 viewers, reaching almost 2.9 million Canadians, peaking at 950,000 as the winner was announced.

Hosted by award-winning comedian and star of CBC Television’s MR. D., Gerry Dee, CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON is a groundbreaking two-hour television special that revealed that there is more to intelligence than having a high IQ score or being a whiz at math or trivia.

Drawing on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, the unique play-along experience allowed viewers to test their own wits during the broadcast. Viewers were able to see how they compare to the four participants in studio competing for the title of CANADA’S SMARTEST PERSON, as well as family members and friends.
